About Me

My name is Anne Malaythong, and I am proud to own and operate my State Farm Insurance Agency here in Eugene, Oregon. My office is conveniently located across from the Matthew Knight Arena on the University of Oregon campus.

I was born in Laos, and my family immigrated to the United States in 1980. I grew up in the Eugene/Springfield area and am the first in my family to graduate from a university. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from the University of Oregon. In addition, I have an associate degree from Lane Community College and studied accounting at NW Christian University. English is actually my third language—I also speak Lao and Thai.

Before opening my insurance agency in 2015, I gained valuable experience managing my parents’ Thai and Chinese restaurant for 10 years. I also worked as a loan officer for five years and spent five years in commercial insurance at Wells Fargo. From a young age, I worked in the fields during summers to help support my family and pay for school supplies, which taught me the importance of hard work and perseverance.

My partner and I have been together for over 30 years+, and we have two amazing children—Hailey, who is an esthetician, and Ashley, who serves in the Air Force. Our children speak Spanish, Mandarin, and Lao, and they attended Chinese school in Eugene for five years. As a family, we love camping, rafting, and taking long road trips in the beautiful Oregon outback. We also have two perfect terriers, Penne and Ellie, who keep us on our toes!

Giving back to the community is very important to me. I have volunteered with Holt International Adoption Agency, taught insurance and financial education classes at Nedco, mentored underprivileged youth in local middle schools, and spoken at high schools, colleges, and the University of Oregon International Student Association.
